Depending on their application, Lightgage Steel Joists are classified as either ceiling joists or partition joists. Furthermore, they come in an array of cross-sectional forms: V-shaped, C-shaped, T-shaped, L-shaped, and U-shaped, catering to varied architectural needs. The marking order is methodically structured as follows: product name, code, width of the cross-sectional shape, height, steel plate thickness, and standard number. For instance, a ceiling joist with a 'C' cross-sectional shape, measuring 50mm in width, 15mm in height, with a steel plate thickness of 1.5mm, is officially designated as a Light Steel Joist for construction DC50×15×1.5GB11981.
